Do you recall Zion Williamson’s voodoo-themed Air Jordan 1 design from 2022, inspired by his New Orleans roots? Well, that coveted pair is set to get a follow-up release in the form of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Voodoo Alternate,” joining an array of other highly anticipated AJ1 drops that will commemorate the 40th milestone of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

Although this alternate design first surfaced in 2023, @zSneakerHeadz has revealed that Jordan Brand intends to officially release this version of the shoe this year.

Despite having a change in colour with black suede Swooshes and eye-catching blue and indigo suede and burlap materials on the base, the pair essentially looks the same as its 2022 counterpart.

We’re offered the same signature skull graphic on the heel, as well as the inverted Jordan Wings logo and tongue tag (in an eerie glow-in-the-dark material, may I add). The stitching details on the Swoosh logo and forefoot, braided rope laces, and the inverted tiny Swoosh logo at the forefoot also make a welcomed reappearance. The sneakers appearance is undoubtedly eerier than its predecessor, but it perfectly conveys the shoe’s overall theme.

Zion Williamson x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Voodoo Alternate” Release Details

The “Voodoo Alternate” design will be released on the Nike SNKRS app and at select Jordan retailers on November 19, 2025. It’s a shame these won’t be available in October because they’d be an excellent addition to the spooky season.

While we wait for more information on the release, fans can look forward to more exciting AJ1 releases this year. Jordan Brand is reintroducing favourites like the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Shattered Backboard” and Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High OG while also introducing new colourways and collaborations like the Air Jordan 1 High OG Rare Air “Cinnabar” and Air Jordan 1 High OG “Varsity Red.” Until then, be sure to follow Sneaker Fortress for more information on upcoming Air Jordan 1 releases and other footwear news.
