Once upon a time, Nike created one of their most notorious and sought-after Nike SB Dunk Low designs inspired by the eerie Nightmare on Elm Street character that haunted our dreams after seeing the film. However, the Swoosh label received a cease-and-desist order before the shoes were officially released, so they were never made public. That’s why when rare pairs of these kicks do find their way onto the resale market, they can command a five-figure price tag or higher. Yet sneakerheads have been offered a number of custom remakes to satisfy their appetite for the sinister design, like this Air Jordan 1 High “Freddy Krueger” by John Trottier (@johnnyskicks_) that is on offer right now.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
Similar to the 2007 version that was never officially released, this customised take highlights Freddy Krueger’ distinctive attire. Two-toned textile fabric is used to replicate the character’s signature striped sweater on the shoe’s base, while red splatters stain the beige leather overlays that represent his gloves. From there, aged metallic silver Swooshes are added to the sides to represent the sharp blades that protrude from Freddy’s leather glove. Finally, the pair’s sinister appearance is completed with a sail midsole and a black rubber outsole.
How To Grab The Air Jordan 1 High “Freddy Krueger”
The good news is that this custom remake is now available for purchase. The bad news is that only five pairs will be made on a first-come, first-served basis, making them nearly as elusive as the SB Dunk design they are based on. So, if you want to be one of the lucky few to own these kicks, be sure to DM Trottier on Instagram.
