Air Jordan 1 Low "Black Cat" Gives Off Michael Jackson Thriller Vibes

Fans of the Jordan Brand will be treated to a “Black Cat” colourway in 2024 after all, just not the pair we were all hoping for. Instead, the Jumpman Label has plans to release an Air Jordan 1 Low “Black Cat” inspired by the spooky season.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

This iteration of the Air Jordan 1 pays homage to Michael Jordan’s famous “Black Cat” nickname, following a tradition of designs that celebrate the basketball legend. However, this time around, the design takes a more whimsical approach to the theme.

While the sneaker maintains the signature blacked-out aesthetic typical of “Black Cat” colourways, it also introduces a host of unusual details that are sure to intrigue. Think glow-in-the-dark cat eyes on the tongues, embossed fangs hanging from beneath the laces, and spider-web patterns on the toe boxes.

There is even a clever use of unconventional materials, such as hairy laces and shaggy suede on the collar, to capture the essence of the wild cat’s fur. Plus, the overlays feature a flame graphic that might have heat-sensitive properties.

It’s undoubtedly a distinctive take on the model, though we’ll need to wait for the official images to appreciate the complete design. Stay tuned!

Air Jordan 1 Low “Black Cat” Release Details

This special Halloween release from Jordan Brand is slated for October 2024, hopefully promising to hit the shelves just in time for the spooky festivities. Sneaker enthusiasts can look forward to grabbing the Air Jordan 1 Low “Black Cat” from Nike.com and select retailers. However, the exact details, including the price and specific release date, are yet to be revealed.

In the meantime, let’s look forward to the array of releases leading up to this spooky edition, including the Air Jordan 4 “White Thunder”, A Ma Maniére’s “Fossil Stone” take on the Air Jordan 4, and the “Midnight Navy” Colourway for the Air Jordan 13.
