Nike celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Doernbecher Freestyle collaboration with six sneaker designs created by children from the Oregon-based hospital. The collection includes a new design for the Air Jordan 6, which was last used for the program in 2009.
A Closer Look At The Design
This year’s Air Jordan 6 design has a very ’90s feel to it with its combination of white, pink, light blue, lilac, soft teal, and gold.
Every shoe has a glittering gold tongue with matching gold lace locks, along with white overlays. That being said, each shoe has a distinct base colour; the left shoe has a predominantly blue base, while the right shoe features soft pink.
Other significant details include the addition of heart-shaped cutouts in place of the typical perforations on the leather uppers and purple cursive lettering that reads “Give Life” at the toe.
The pair is completed with a teal and pink midsole and a translucent outsole underneath. The packaging should also include a variety of lace options that complement the shoe’s colours.
Air Jordan 6 Doernbecher Release Details
This stunning AJ6 design will be officially unveiled on October 18, 2024, along with the rest of the “Doernbecher” collection. Details regarding the retail launch, however, are still pending.
