The Air Jordan 5 is definitely bringing a lot of heat this year. As the adored model marks 35 years since its debut, Jordan Brand has enlisted the help of a number of stylish partners to put their own spin on the classic silhouette. One of these team-ups happens to be with the trendy streetwear brand Awake NY, who created a bold “Arctic Pink” version of the Air Jordan 5 for sneakerheads to swoon over.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
With this collaboration, the New York City-based label definitely stepped out of the shoe(box), bringing an uncommon combo of Arctic Pink, Metallic Silver, University Red, Black, White, and Clear to the AJ5.
The upper is primarily covered in the pastel colour “Arctic Pink,” with elements of “University Red” that draw attention to the tongue branding, midsole spikes, and lining. Following that, “Metallic Silver” appears on the tongue, with a “Black” midsole and a “Clear” outsole positioned on the sole unit below.
But of course, Awake NY has focused on more than just the colour palette when it comes to the Tinker Hatfield-designed model. The streetwear brand included a few unique branding touches to ensure this design has their name written all over it. First, you get embroidered Awake branding on the tongue and a bold “A” logo at the sides of the shoe, clearly visible over the standard netting. The final detail is a shoutout to “NY” city on the right shoe’s lateral heel where the standard “23” logo would normally be.
Another Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 Colourway?
Of course, if this colourway isn’t quite your style, the brand is also set to release a Black, Racer Blue, Metallic Silver, White, and Clear pair this year. In this second version, the pastel pink upper will be swapped out for black, while the red trimmings will be replaced with “Racer Blue.”.
But regardless of your preferred colour scheme, the Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 collaboration is looking to be a highlight of 2025’s release schedule, especially for the sneakerheads who appreciate a bolder look.
Release Details
This bold and beautiful version of the AJ5 is currently scheduled for release on August 29, 2025. The kicks will be available for $210 USD through Awake NY and likely Nike SNKRS.
