Yes, I know. It might sound like sacrilege to those who love Bruce Lee and his iconic yellow and black jumpsuit and everything it means to us, but sadly, it is true. Some Bruce Lee fans out there don’t like the classic “yellow and black” look. If you are one of those fans, don’t worry. Designers John Trottier and Yuang Louis have created this beautiful and luxurious pair of Bruce Lee-inspired Green Dragon Nike Air Jordan 1 LUX sneakers.

The stunning and beautiful Bruce Lee Green Dragon Nike Air Jordan 1 LUX sneakers are similar to a pair we have covered in recent months – a black, yellow and red pair that was a stunning homage to the legendary martial artists. Although this has an entirely different colour scheme, the same satin and luxe look has been taken for this beautiful pair.

Starting from the bottom, we see a pristine white outsole and midsole combo, with the two coming together to make the look cohesive and sophisticated. There is plenty more white throughout the rest of the shoe. However, the only other plain white is the shoe laces.

The sneakers have plenty of stunning satin elements, so let’s start with the dark green. The royal and earthy green satin used on the sneakers has a luxurious and majestic feel, like the satins that would have been used for Easter royalty. This satin blankets the mudguard, the lower lace stays, the upper lace unit travelling up the ankle, and even making up the heel counter.

The rest of the sneaker, namely the toe box continuing up into the tongue and the upper base around the mid-foot section, is an equally luxurious white satin with patterns that resemble swirls of clouds.

The real masterpiece, however, is the hand-carved and hand-painted leather sections on the Nike Swoosh and the collar. With combinations of blues and greens to represent the environment and the stunning Green Dragon that is the focal point of the back, the sneakers are a stunning homage to Easter culture and great martial artists that have come in the past, such as Bruce Lee.

Finally, the collar is complemented by a clear strap with red decorative stitching, making up the only pop of red on the entire sneakers.

The box for these sneakers is no ordinary shoe box, but a luxurious suit/briefcase that is a deep green leather with gold corners, rivets, buckles and hardware with a black interior, making this a luxurious piece to own and a complete masterpiece to display. How does this relate to Bruce Lee? In one of his movies that made the iconic yellow and black suit famous Game of Death, he fought Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, whose character was known as Mantis because of his height and incredibly long arms. The mantis-like colourway, the satin look and the dragon motif make it a beautiful representation of many elements reminiscent of Bruce Lee.

All pairs that the duo of designers create are made by hand and to order, so if you want to get a pair of these luxurious sneakers, you are welcome to speak to them through direct messages on Instagram. That being said, they are hand carved, hand painted, and hand stitched, so you had better be ready to part with a pretty penny to get your hands on a pair of these sneakers.
