Everybody Wants These Nike SB Dunk Low “Lion-O” Sneakers

“Thunder, thunder, ThunderCats, Ho!” There have been plenty of reasons for fans of the ThunderCats to cheer over the past few years! Rumours of a live-action movie have been amping up, and Puma released an epic ThunderCats sneaker collection in 2023. But we can’t help but wonder what could have been if the beloved heroes were reimagined on Nike SB Duks instead. Well, thanks to @conceptkickz, we get to see a pair of Nike SB Dunk Low “Lion-O” sneakers.

Using a blend of imagination and impressive Procreate skills, the sneaker artist painted a homage to the fearless leader of the ThunderCats, Lion-O.

The Nike SB Dunk Low “Lion-O” sneaker sports design elements that reflect the leader’s signature attire and weapon. Think orange tumbled leather inspired by the shade of the Thunderian’s skin and a darker shade of orange on the inner lining that echoes the hero’s flowing mane.

The “Lion-O” colourway also utilises shades of blue. This colour is seen on the overlays, with a lighter blue covering most of the surface area and a darker blue providing a stunning contrast along the edges. The darker blue shade is also present on the heel tab and outsole. These carefully chosen shades of blue pay tribute to Lion-O’s armour and boots.

Next, we see a red swoosh proudly displayed on the side of the sneaker. But the most unique feature of this Nike swoosh isn’t its colour — it’s the silhouette of a cat head at the front end. This cat head is the renowned ThunderCats logo, a powerful symbol within the ThunderCats series.

Another symbol added to the design is a cat eye. This represents the Eye of Thundera, the very source of the ThunderCats’ power. Without it, the ThunderCats wouldn’t be quite as effective in their battles against the forces of evil.

Though I’m sure many fans would have liked to see Lion-O’s gold claw shield included in the design, this minor detail can be overlooked.

Unfortunately, this Nike SB Dunk Low “Lion-0” sneaker is just a concept design. But that doesn’t make us want them any less. In fact, we wouldn’t mind a complete Thundercats SB Dunk Low pack! Panthro’s, Cheetara’s, and Tygras’s—we want them all!

So, what do you think about the Nike SB Dunk Low “Lion-O” sneaker? Also, check out the Di’orr Greenwood Nike SB Dunk High “Rugged Orange” and the Sour Patch Kids x Nike SB Dunk Low sneakers.
