UPDATE: On March 18, 2025, Nike.com and select skate shops will debut the new “Navy” colourway of the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4. Men’s sizes of the pair will retail for $225 USD. However, it is also expected to have an April release on the SNKRS app. Take a look at the sneaker in greater detail in the pictures below, and stay tuned for more updates.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: The sneaker universe witnessed quite an excitement last year with the drop of the Air Jordan 4 SB “Pine Green” variant. Not only was this fantastic reimagination hailed as possibly the top sneaker launch of 2023, but it also left fans in curious anticipation for a follow-up version. Although there have been countless unfounded rumours swirling around about new colour ways, it now seems sneaker enthusiasts may actually have something to look forward to—the potential release of the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 Retro “Summit White Navy.”

What to Expect from the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 Retro “Summit White Navy”

As substantiated by trusted footwear insiders Sole Retriever, the beloved Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 partnership will return to the limelight in March 2025. The iconic design is believed to adopt a “Summit White”, “White Navy”, “Neutral Grey”, “Gum Yellow”, and “Varsity Red” palette in a colour blocking rumoured to mirror that of its predecessor – the “Pine Green”.

This previous edition was itself a hat tip to the original AJ4 releases. One of them is the legendary “Military Blue” sneaker, a colourway which is expected to make a comeback on May 4th, 2024, with a Pine Green-inspired build, funnily enough.

While we’re yet to see official images of the upcoming collaboration, mock-up images have surfaced. These provide us with a speculative glimpse into the possible look of the highly anticipated follow-up collaboration.

A Close Look at the Colour Palette and Design Elements of the Sneaker

Just like the wide assortment of AJ4 styles that are popular at the moment, the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 Retro “Summit White Navy” is dressed in a primarily white leather exterior—or, more accurately, “Summit White” in this case. This premium white leather upper is subtly contrasted with a “Neutral Grey” suede toe wrap, replicating the look of the “Pine Green” version that was released previously.

What is the significant shift here? Rather than the punchy green used in the previous design on areas like the plastic eyelets, rear heel tab, and midsole, you’ll find a darker “Navy” tone here. However, from there, more similarities follow.

The Jumpman emblem, bright and visible on the tongue and insoles, remains red, while the Nike SB branding on the heel tab is rendered in a crisp white hue. The style is rounded off with a “White” sole and subtle splashes of gum rubber on the toe and heel. Despite being less flashy than its predecessor, it’s still a release that sneakerheads and skaters can look forward to.

While the colour scheme deserves its nods, we think it’s also necessary to highlight the pair’s technical features. For the enthusiasts amongst you, you can look forward to the silhouette’s subtle refinements aimed at enhancing the skateboarding experience.

The shape is one such alteration. It follows the original ’89 design—a recurring feature with recent AJ4 models. The shoe’s forefoot is slimmer, and a Poron forefoot sock liner has been added for flexibility, impact cushioning, and durability.

Other features to note include the reinvented wings, which utilise an enhanced rubber compound for superior traction with grip tape, flexible plastic details, and zonal gum rubber on the outsole. The tongue of the shoe has also been fortified with more padding, which offers greater interior comfort. It’s definitely a skater’s dream pair—but that’s not to suggest that this pair isn’t fit for the wishlist of every sneakerhead, either.

Release Date

While we’re still waiting for the official word from Jordan Brand, rumours already have the new Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 Retro “Summit White Navy” sneaker pegged for a March 2025 release. This anticipated release ought to be available through Nike, SNKRS, selected Jordan Brand retailers, and a range of local skate shops. It is likely to be pitched somewhere around the $225 USD mark in men’s sizes.

Having previously faced the disappointment of debunked rumours about a “Blue Sapphire” edition and a Black Cat variant, Sole Retriever appears to be fairly confident about this drop. So, as we all eagerly wait for more concrete details or even just a whisper of confirmation on this forthcoming Nike SB and Jordan hook-up, remember to keep your eyes on our page, Sneaker Fortress, for the latest news on sneaker drops and reviews. You can also check out some of the Best Air Jordan 4 colourways to ever release (right here), who knows one of them might inspire the next Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 release.
