This year, the world of sneakers is buzzing with excitement. From the grand 30th anniversary celebrations of the iconic Air Max 95 to the milestone of Jordan Brand hitting the big 4-0, it’s a year of remarkable releases. And now, we have a unique addition to this list-a movie that’s all about sneakers. Briarcliff Entertainment has unveiled a ‘sneak’ peek of their upcoming animated film, aptly named Sneaks. This film, with its very unexpected concept, promises to be a thrilling adventure for sneaker enthusiasts of all ages.

The trailer kicks off with a young sneakerhead who attends a sneaker convention and wins a pair of one-of-a-kind sneakers. Given that an animated Chris Paul hands the pair to him, these might very well be some form of CP3 PEs.
Of course, every sneakerhead’s story has a villain, but this time around, it’s not all the bots trying to scoop up the limited edition releases at a retail price; rather, it’s a sneaker collector who will do whatever it takes to obtain every special pair of sneakers ever made.
As a result, the villain “kicknaps” the shoes—their word, not mine—but somehow misplaces one while making his getaway. This kickstarts a wild journey for each shoe in this one-of-a-kind set, allowing them to meet other kinds of sneakers along the way.
The movie’s synopsis reads: Sneaks follows the adventures of Ty, a misguided designer sneaker who doesn’t know life outside the comforts of his velvet-lined shoebox. After his sister is stolen by a shady collector, Ty must venture intoN.Y.C. to find and rescue her. In his adventure, Ty meets a rag-tag group of footwear friends from all walks of life who help him find the courage to step outside of his shoe box and find his “sole-mate.”
While the animation style isn’t cutting-edge, and the story may not be an award-winner, sneakerheads might still enjoy seeing some of their fave sneakers brought to life in animated form. From the iconic Converse All-Star to Nike Foamposites and every pair in between, Sneaks delivers a number of classic and modern sneaker silhouettes. It’s at least worth watching the trailer below before you make any hasty decisions on whether or not to see this film when it drops on April 18, 2025.
