2024 heralds another significant milestone in the Jordan lineup—30 years since the launch of Michael Jordan’s 10th signature shoe. However, to date, there’s been no official retro release to mark this iconic moment. So, instead, let’s take a nostalgic ride back to one of many memorable colourways in the Air Jordan 10 lineup: the Air Jordan 10 OG “New York”, a.k.a the “New York Knicks.”
More About The Air Jordan 10 OG “New York”
This sleek rendition of the Air Jordan 10 debuted in 1995 as part of the “City Series” pack, a tribute to various American cities. This specific colourway, of course, was a homage to the basketball culture of the Big Apple, with a “White/Black/Royal Blue/Orange Flame” palette inspired by the New York Knicks team colours.
Hubert Davis, former New York Knicks player, undoubtedly brought this colourway into the limelight by sporting it during his time with the team. As such, its connection to New York’s rich basketball heritage is unmistakable.
The sneaker showcases a white leather upper, accented by contrasting black overlays and vibrant blue touches on the inner lining and outsole. To capture that true Knicks spirit, there’s also a dash of orange on the Jumpman logo featured on the shoe’s underside.
Despite its revered status, the Air Jordan 10 OG “New York” has yet to see a retro release since its original debut. This year could have been a fantastic opportunity for Jordan Brand to reissue this beloved colourway. But let’s hope we see its triumphant return next year, celebrating the colourway’s 30th anniversary alongside Jordan Brand’s 40th milestone.
