With Jordan Brand planning to release several “Black Cat” colourways next year, including the Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4 versions, it seems like there’s no better moment for the Jumpman Label to bring back the Air Jordan 6 “Black Cat.” However, the team at @zsneakerheadz has proposed a few stylish tweaks for any potential re-release.
A Closer Look at the Sneaker
Much like every other “Black Cat” colourway inspired by Michael Jordan’s famous moniker, this concept AJ6 is drenched in black. Unlike the official Air Jordan 6 “Black Cat” that dropped in 2016, which featured white on the midsole, this concept pair opts for a completely blacked-out sole unit. @zsneakerheadz also suggests swapping the previous perforated and smooth leather materials on the upper for plush nubuck, which is reminiscent of a black panther’s smooth pelt. The rest of the design stays true to the classic Air Jordan 6 silhouette, including the signature lace lock and Jumpman logo on the heel.
Overall, this concept AJ6 offers a sleek and modern take on the “Black Cat” theme, with many fans dubbing these the “Batman 6s.” What’s your opinion? Does the look remind you of Michael Keaton’s all-black 6s from the 1992 Batman Returns movie, or do you feel that honour should go to the OG pair? Share your thoughts with us below!
More Sneaker Designs
Unfortunately, there’s still no word on whether sneakerheads can actually expect an all-black Air Jordan 6 sneaker to drop in 2025. But don’t worry; there are many upcoming “Black Cat” alternatives to consider.
This year, we will see the release of an Air Jordan 4 RM “Black Cat”, a Spizike Low inspired by MJ’s moniker, and a Halloween-ready Air Jordan 1 that playfully celebrates the theme. Plus, there are also the previously mentioned AJ 3 and 4 pairs to look out for in 2025.
