Great ideas often find their roots in good food, and a custom Air Max 1 inspired by the world’s biggest fast-food chain (a.k.a McDonald’s) is definitely a good idea. This unique piece of art was brought to life by the talented Sam van IJzendoorn, known for his incredible work via @vijzbespokes.
If the thought of sneakers inspired by your favourite fast food joint hasn’t yet crossed your mind, these McDonald’s-themed kicks are bound to ignite that craving.

While folks around the world tend to associate McDees with a red and yellow palette, these custom Air Max 1s are inspired by the colour scheme of environmentally friendly McDonald’s locations in Europe. Hence, the atypical green, white, yellow, and red combination.
The custom kicks utilise dark green suede on the toe box, mudguard, and heel counter, paired with white leather on the quarter panels. A yellow suede section beneath the white leather panel adds to the vibrant palette, complete with a fry box-inspired design on the tongue.

To finish off the theme, the iconic McDonald’s golden arch logo is displayed on the forefoot, paired with a red lace dubrae also sporting the McDees logo.
Although this particular pair was a one-of-a-kind creation for @mcdonaldsnl back in 2019, you can have your favourite fast food chain (or food) reimagined as a sneaker with Vijz Bespokes. Just head over to the made-to-order section on their website and fill in the details.
