Each year, Jordan Brand creates a number of drool-worthy player-exclusive (PE) colourways for their affiliated college teams. Pairs so coveted that sneakerheads worldwide would do almost anything to get their hands on them. 2025’s Air Jordan 4 “UNC” PE is no different.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
This year’s design for the University of North Carolina (Michael Jordan’s very own alma mater) has been heavily influenced by the stunning “First Class” Jordan 4 the Jumpman Label crafted for its WNBA athletes last year. It features the same gilded details that made its predecessor a truly luxurious piece, along with identical tonal uppers (this time in blue hues, of course), plus a tongue and mudguard with a stingray texture.
Also present are two-sided gold tongue tags with the Jordan Brand and institution’s logos on them, along with “UNC” lace dubraes to complete the ensemble. If these details aren’t enough to make you feel a sting of envy, the classic Jumpman emblems on the tongue and heel also feature those shiny miniature diamond gems instead of the Jumpman’s standard basketball. It’s undoubtedly a pair many sneakerheads would love to own (us included).
Air Jordan 4 “UNC” PE Release Details
Sadly, as with all of Jordan’s player-exclusive iterations, you will have to jump through hoops and pay a pretty penny to get your hands on a pair of these exclusive Air Jordan 4 “UNC” PE’s, which are only available to select individuals within the team they are created for. But it’s clear that Jordan Brand means business in 2025, especially given how they’ve started the year with a bang.
With 2025 marking the brand’s 40th anniversary, expect plenty more heat in the form of sought-after retro releases and collaborations throughout the year. Think of pairs like the Grape 5s, Undefeated’s Air Jordan 4s, and a potential team-up between Fragment and Union LA on the AJ1. To keep up to date with these releases and so much more (trust us, it’s going to be a loaded year), be sure to follow us at Sneaker Fortress for more sneaker drops and news.
