When it comes to the colour schemes of their collaborative releases, Travis Scott and Jordan Brand generally tend to play it safe, sticking mostly to neutral and earthy tones. And even though this has proven to be a successful formula that simultaneously stays true to the rapper’s penchant for muted tones, sneaker artist Joshua Kay’s (@josh_j_kay) custom ‘Baby Blue’ Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low definitely has us rooting for more unexpected colourways in the future.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 1 Low designs are rarely seen in soft pastel colourways, with the exception of the Shy Pink pair that was set to release next year but has since been cancelled. But as this distinctive “Baby Blue” custom shows, La Flame ought to explore more delicate tones in his upcoming sneaker collaborations and perhaps even play a little bit with the colour blocking. I mean, just look at how gorgeous this pair is!
Kay pairs a white tumbled leather base with cream leather overlays. Baby blue hues brighten areas such as the inner lining, insoles, branding, and lateral quarter panels. Last but not least, smooth white leather is used on Travis Scott’s signature reverse Swooshes, while the medial checks are coloured that beautiful baby blue hue. This custom is sure to have fans hoping for more Easter-ready TS x AJ1 Low colourways in the future; it certainly has us longing.
Is The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “Baby Blue” Available For Purchase?
Of course, this specific pair was a custom design made for one of Joshua Kay’s clients. However, if you contact the sneaker artist via Instagram, you can commission him to make a similar design for you.
