Yuang Louis and John Trottier’s Union x Air Jordan 1 Sneakers Are Hot

This Union LA x Air Jordan 1 collection offers two unique colourways inspired by the streetwear brand's 2018 collaboration with Jordan Brand.

With Union LA and Jordan Brand rumoured to continue the colourway selection of their highly acclaimed 2018 collab next year, there’s probably no better time to highlight a custom pack of Union x Air Jordan 1 sneakers created by talented artists Yuang Louis (@louis_yuang) and John Trottier (@johnnyskicks_)

A Closer Look At The Sneakers

This custom reimagining of the Union LA AJ1 collaboration comes in two colourways: black, red, and white, and simply black and white.

The tongue of the first pair is made of white Italian leather, while the toe box, quarter panels, and ankle flap are covered in python skin to match. The overlays are also made of python leather, but the toe, eyestays, and heel are coloured a vivid red, while the profile swooshes are covered in black. For that true Union AJ1 feel, grey suede highlights the ankle area.

In contrast, the black-and-white pair keeps things simple, with white Python leather on the base and black snakeskin leather on the overlays and side Swooshes. However, the vibrant blue stitching on the collar, a colour which can also be spotted along the overlay edging, contributes to the overall Union feel of the design.

Both of these pairs come with a set of two-toned laces to tie the look together. The bottom of the set is dark black, and the top half is a sail hue. Other shared features include a yellow tag that reads “YA/JK” or “UN/YA” rather than the customary “UN/LA” branding and a retro yellowed midsole that gives them a worn-in appearance.

How To Grab These Union x Air Jordan 1 Customs

These custom sneakers are available on Yuang’s website for $1850 USD a piece. Note that these kicks are made to order, so allow at least 4 to 8 weeks for completion.

In the meantime, you can browse more Union La-inspired customs here on our site. There are plenty of creative nods to the streetwear brand, whether it’s a Travis Scott Jordan Jumpman Jack sporting colourways inspired by the iconic Union LA Air Jordan 1s or an “Of Noir” Air Jordan 1 Low that takes cues from the details seen on the Union x Air Jordan 1 collab. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to follow us here at Sneaker Fortress for more custom and concept kicks.
