Sneaker designers have long drawn inspiration from the beauty and artistry of Chinese culture. Nike and Jordan Brand, in particular, have a few official releases in their archives, but there are also plenty of custom creations from independent artists. One extremely unique design we’ve stumbled across is the “Chinese Blue Porcelain” Air Jordan 1 High by sneaker designer John Trottier. This sneaker is the perfect example of how traditional Chinese art can be reinterpreted to create something truly breathtaking.

It’s unbelievable how much these sneakers look like the fine china dishes you find at your grandmother’s house.

The white leather base is covered with patterns of traditional Chinese houses, boats, and trees. The shoe also has a unique glazed finish to give it that glossy porcelain look. You’ll even find a hint of ink bleeding to mimic the fine China look.

Also included are gold patent-leather Swooshes with white trim, white laces with glossy blue aglets, and a white tumbled leather tongue.

This is an absolutely stunning sneaker, and the best part is that you don’t have to worry about breaking it.
