Sneaker designers often turn to the beauty and artistry of Chinese culture for inspiration. Whether it’s official sneaker releases from major brands or custom creations by independent artists, the sneaker world is full of unique and creative interpretations of traditional Chinese themes and motifs. And this “Chinese Blue Porcelain” Air Jordan 1 High by renowned sneaker designer John Trottier (@johnnyskicks_) is just another example of how traditional Chinese art can be integrated into modern sneaker design to create something truly breathtaking.

A Closer Look At The Design

The attention to detail on this pair is impeccable. The sneakers look just like the fine china dishes you might find at your grandmother’s house.

The upper is painted with elaborate blue patterns of traditional Chinese houses, boats, and trees, all on a base of white leather. It also features a unique glazed finish and a hint of ink bleeding to further enhance the porcelain-like appearance. Then there’s the gold patent leather Swooshes with a white trim around the edges to add to the details. Finally, white laces, a white tumbled leather tongue, and a white and blue sole unit complete the ensemble.

It’s an absolutely stunning sneaker, and the best part is that you won’t have to worry about breaking it.

Where To Buy The “Chinese Blue Porcelain” Air Jordan 1 High
