The Surgeon, the world-renowned custom sneaker artist, has been cooking again and has made a gorgeous pair of desert-inspired Air Jordan 1 Low “Mojave” sneakers. Each element of the sneakers has been deconstructed and gorgeously recrafted to make an entirely new pair.
Starting from the bottom, the dark rubber outsole and white rubber midsole have been dyed with coffee to give them a gorgeous, warm, worn-in vintage feel despite being brand-new sneakers.
The sneakers’ upper has been completely reconstructed with cracked white leather, giving the sneakers the feel of a pair that has been baking in the hot desert for a while.
Surrounding the gorgeous cracked leather are a series of overlays constructed of exotic faux reptile-skin leather with a rattle-snake look, further cementing the idea that these sneakers have been made for the high desert by the best cobbler alive.
The sneakers have taken on a premium, breathable mesh lining in a deep tan brown that works perfectly with the coffee-dyed outsole, which again ties in perfectly with the tan leather that has been used for the modified Air Jordan wings logo on the heel of the sneakers, which now has the cobranding to show both “AIR” and “SRGN”.
Lastly, the lace holes have been widened to allow for the new, twisted rope laces, adding to the bespoke, desert-inspired look.
