ORIGINAL ARTICLE: This year has undoubtedly brought a rollercoaster of emotions for sneakerheads. First, we were thrilled with the announcement of the comeback of the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” in 2025. But soon after, anticipation turned to disappointment when it was reported that the release had been shelved in favour of a new AJ12 “Bloodline” release. However, the tides have turned once more, and Jordan Brand has decided to go ahead with the release of the Air Jordan 12 Retro “Flu Game”, much to the delight of fans who’ve been eagerly waiting for its return.

History of the AJ12 “Flu Game”

This legendary colourway pays tribute to Michael Jordan’s extraordinary performance during the 1997 NBA Finals. In Game 5 against the Utah Jazz, Jordan memorably scored 38 points despite battling flu-like symptoms, solidifying his status as one of the greatest basketball players ever. And on his feet? A flawless pair of black and red Air Jordan 12s, forever immortalising the “Flu Game” in sneaker lore.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

The 2025 edition of the “Flu Game” Air Jordan 12 promises to faithfully replicate the original design worn by MJ during that unforgettable game. Expect to see the characteristic black tumbled leather uppers paired with Varsity Red overlays, a combination that has won the hearts of many fans over the years. The sneaker will also feature red branding details on the tongue and heel, complemented by a matching sole unit below. So, if you’ve been biding your time since 2016 for another shot at these classic sneakers, 2025 is poised to be your lucky year.

Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” Release Details

This iconic colourway is slated for a Spring 2025 release through Nike.com and select Jordan Brand retailers.  Even better, the release will include full family sizing, with retail prices set at $200 for men, $150 for grade school, $90 for preschool, and $75 for toddler sizes.

But as we await 2025, be prepared for a year brimming with iconic sneaker releases. From the return of the mythical Wu-Tang Dunks to another shot at Undefeated’s Air Jordan 4s and even another version of Union La’s renowned AJ1 pairs from 2018, next year promises a slew of highly anticipated drops.
