Air Jordan 3 "Black Cement Remastered"

For a while now, there have been rumours that the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” will return in “Reimagined” form for the Jordan Brands 2024 Holiday releases. Of course, we were all preparing for exactly what this meant. Previous reimagined designs have seen beloved colourways dressed in new materials or given an aged aesthetic, so fans were both sceptical and excited to see how the iconic “Black Cement” would be updated. But here’s some surprising news: the “Black Cement” isn’t going to be reimagined after all. In an unexpected turn of events, the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” will return true to its original form, staying faithful to its classic design and beloved colourway.

The Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement Remastered”

If you’re a sneakerhead, you’ll likely be excited by this update shared by sneaker insiders @zsneakerheadz. They revealed that the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” is set to take us on a nostalgia trip back to the 80s, mirroring the original 1988 design down to every last detail, thanks to a meticulous remastering process.

So, what exactly does this mean? What can we expect as fans? Well, to answer this question, let’s dive into what Jordan Brands remastered line is.

The Remastered Retro Programme

Air Jordan 3 "Black Cement Remastered"

Back in 2015, the Jumpman label introduced the “Remastered” programme, committed to presenting retro models as closely aligned with their originals as possible. This came on the back of die-hard fans expressing their dismay over noticeable deviations in the retro releases from the original designs. After all, an original is always held in high regard.

A significant part of the allure surrounding retro releases lies in their ability to evoke nostalgia and authenticity tied to the original designs. Fans look forward to reliving the charm with the same colours, materials, shape and every minute detail that cemented the fame of the original shoes.

And that’s precisely what the “Remastered” line has set out to achieve – recreating the charm of the original retro models. So, keeping this in mind, sneakerheads can look forward to experiencing the same high-quality materials, skilled craftsmanship, and meticulous attention to detail that vaulted the Air Jordan 3 into the annals of timeless classics.

The AJ3 Retro

With the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement”, you can look forward to the “Black” tumbled leather upper, accompanied by “Cement Grey” highlights – including the delightful elephant print. Also present will be the striking “Fire Red” details on the tongue and the lowest eyelets. Likely to please the purists, this version will probably showcase the classic “Nike Air” branding on the heel tabs and round off with a “Sail” midsole and a “Cement Grey” rubber outsole for an authentic vintage vibe.
