After the announcement earlier this year celebrating the return of Michael Jordan’s iconic “Black Cat” colourway draped over some of his most beloved silhouettes, it’s no surprise that this all-black design has surfaced on some rather unexpected models. Not only has it caught the spotlight on Spike Lee’s hybrid creation, the Jordan Spizike Low, but the beloved “Black Cat” colourway is also set to take on the revamped 1989 classic, the Air Jordan 4 RM.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
Like many of the more eye-catching colourways seen on this latest off-legacy Air Jordan model, this Air Jordan 4 RM design boasts a stylish tonal upper. As you’d expect, the model is decked out in full black from top to bottom, but it brings a fresh touch with a blend of materials, including nubuck leather on the base, canvas on the eye stays, and mesh on the tongue.
One of the most noticeable changes in this RM version is the branding. Unlike the original 2006 AJ4′ Black Cat’ and its 2020 predecessor, this version features white Nike Air branding on the heel and white Jumpman logos on the tongue and insole. To finish the look, the pair is completed with a dark black sole unit housing a clear Air unit in the heel.
Altogether, this design pays homage to the past while seamlessly incorporating a fresh twist on the classic colourway, reflecting the very essence of the model itself.
