Over the years, Jordan Brand has provided fans with an array of tempting sneaker colorways crafted from red suede fabric, and the Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” is undoubtedly up there with the best of them.
The sneaker was first released in 2009 as part of the Defining Moments pack, honouring Michael Jordan’s famous moments. The pack became known as the “Toro Bravo” pack or, more popularly, as the “Raging Bulls” pack among Jordan fans.
Two designs were made available in the bundle, the second being a pair of black shoes with red embellishments. But the Varsity Red, Black, and White design was without a doubt the favourite among sneakerheads. This is likely why Jordan Brand decided to revive the colourway in April 2021 as an individual release—although this time, without the hardwood box the pair was initially packaged in.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
Instead of the AJ 5 model’s usual full-grain leather upper, this Air Jordan Retro features a red suede upper. It also sports matching red laces, with the colour reportedly inspired by the red bandanas worn at the running of the bulls in Pamplona. Black eyelets, a reflective silver tongue, red shark detailing for that heritage style, and the number “23” stitched on the heel are other decorative elements that add to its allure. The stylish look is finished with a black midsole, a translucent outsole that reveals Jumpman branding underfoot, and visible Air underfoot cushioning.
Where To Buy The Nike Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull”
Even though the Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” was last re-released on the SNKRS app and select retailers just four years ago (release date: April 2021), it’s a colourway that we would absolutely love to see return. But for all those who simply can’t wait for Jordan Brand to bring back this striking pair, the Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” is still available for purchase on resale platforms like StockX or GOAT in men’s, GS, and PS sizes.
Looking ahead, several Air Jordan 5 releases are sure to ignite the excitement of sneakerheads in 2025, including the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 5 ‘Violet Ore,’ Awake NY x Air Jordan 5 ‘Arctic Pink,’ and Air Jordan 5 ‘Wings.’ Keep an eye on Sneaker Fortress for the latest news and releases.
