Are The Nike Air Jordan 1 X Crocs Legit?

Crocs has spearheaded an impressive array of collaborations over the years, but what about a possible Nike Air Jordan 1 and Crocs team-up?

Are The Nike Air Jordan 1 X Crocs Legit

Crocs has spearheaded an impressive array of collaborations over the years. This stellar lineup of team-ups includes significant fashion players such as Balenciaga and Simone Rocha, as well as cultural icons like Hello Kitty and, yes, even the Biebs. But what would you say about a possible partnership between the Nike Air Jordan 1 and Crocs?

At first, the notion of these two well-loved footwear icons joining forces might appear somewhat of a pipe dream. However, while the Jordan brand has remained a timeless key player within sneaker circles, Crocs have steadily been broadening their fan base and climbing the popularity ranks. Some may even go as far as to claim that Crocs are gathering the momentum to become the equivalent of the new Jordans in terms of popularity (yes, that some are us). Thankfully, sneaker enthusiast and content creator Chris Colgan ventured into exploring the intriguing prospect of these two world-renowned brands merging their innovativeness, and the result is priceless.

A Closer Look at the Shoe Design

Nike Air Jordan 1 X Crocs

The concept presented by Colgan aims to blend comfort and style in a way that could potentially appeal to Crocs and Jordan enthusiasts. The selected colour scheme appears to mirror that of the Air Jordan 1 Low “White Toe”, a sneaker characterised by an elegant blend of black leather contrasted with a white toe box and traces of red on the Swoosh and inner lining.

Emulating the look of this AJ1 colourway onto the famous Croc profile, the design sports a white toe box, accentuated by striking red accents on the interior and midfoot. In contrast, the rest of the design is coated in a black finish, with both the body and straps donned in this dark shade.

However, an interesting feature to note is the change in the shape of the Croc. The silhouette now flaunts a tongue, laced front and an elongated ankle collar. These subtle changes give the shoe a sneaker-like look, which certainly stands apart from the conventional Croc aesthetic.

Moreover, Colgan has cleverly integrated the iconic MJ silhouette logo on the strap sides and a fiery red Jumpman on the tongue. As far as Jibbitz charms are in question, there is a noticeable absence. What are your thoughts? A collection of basketball-themed charms or miniature versions of Jordan’s championship rings could be a whimsical addition for that personalised MJ touch.

The design finishes with a white and black sole design, resembling the original AJ1s’ look. It’s quite an intriguing presentation, but it leaves us questioning—will this fusion be welcomed by followers of both Croc and Jordan Brand?

Crocs Teamup with Nike Air Jordan 1: Fact or Fiction?

Nike Air Jordan 1 X Crocs

Let’s be candid. Jordan Brand has its own clog-like creation, the Jordan System.23, so the likelihood that a collaboration with Crocs might come to life in the future seems pretty out there. Not to forget, the manufacturers of the lightweight Croslite shoes also have their own comfy LiteRide 360 Pacer sneakers. Yet, given the buzz around Crocs and their eclectic partnerships, it’s wise not to discount the chance completely.

Imagining a Nike Air Jordan 1 X Crocs collaboration might seem like a flight of fancy, but we’ve learnt that nothing is utterly impossible in the thrilling world of sneaker culture. Although Chris Colgan may have dreamed up the original notion as a tongue-in-cheek prank for an April Fools Day giggle, we can’t completely shake off the hope that one day, this bold collaboration might actually hit the market.
