The new Captain America movie has ushered in a new era for the MCU and its legendary hero. Not only is there a new individual wielding the shield, but the character also has a fresh new style—including brand-new shoes. Though Kobe Bryant’s Nike Kobe 9 Elite Protro high-top sneakers were the real inspiration behind Sam Wilson’s boots in Brave New World, we couldn’t help but imagine what Jordan Brands’ Air Jordan 7 and Air Jordan 11 would look like dressed up in the classic red, white, and blue colour scheme.
A Closer Look At The Design
First, we imagined the Air Jordan 7 with blue side panels and vivid red accents on the toe and collar. However, white is used on the tongue, midsole, and laces to harmonise the design. And you can’t have a Brave New World Air Jordan 7 without the hero’s Vibranium shield serving as a hangtag on the laces.
In contrast, our vision for the Air Jordan 11 was a simple white upper with red lace loops and a blue heel tab for a more subtle pop of colour. Once again, adding Caps shield to the laces ties the entire design together and links it back to the Brave New World theme.
It’s not hard to picture Jordan sneakers in a superhero flick; after all, Michael Keaton’s Batman sported the Air Jordan 6 in the 1989 film. So these designs feel like a perfect fit for a stylish character like Sam Wilson, or even just a Marvel fan who appreciates a good pair of kicks and a trip down sneaker memory lane.
