When it comes to the iconic Air Jordan 4, the Jordan Brand has been innovatively tweaking things here and there. In 2023, we saw the introduction of the skateboard-friendly AJ4 “Pine Green,” a shoe that earned the title of one of the top sneaker drops of the year. Now, Michael Jordan’s iconic fourth signature shoe is receiving yet another inspiring redesign, this time coming through as the Air Jordan 4 RM SP “Pro Green”.

What’s in Store with the Latest Air Jordan 4 Design?

Noted BMX icon Nigel Sylvester is, once again, collaborating with Jordan Brand to stir things up in the sneaker world. His former collaborations- like the Jordan 1 Retro High “Nigel Sylvester”-have been known for their unexpected and unique elements. Yet, the upcoming Air Jordan 4 RM “Pro Green” is hitting new heights.

This model is a contemporary reimagining of the much-adored classic from 1989. But what exactly sets this RM apart from your regular Jordan 4? Well, this sleek reinterpretation is almost like an entirely new sneaker launch.

For starters, the design departs from its predecessor by lowering the height slightly and revamping the upper design. However, the most startling change is the new overlay panels on the upper, which encircle the heel in a Huarache-esque style. To elaborate, the classic wing, eyestay, and heel, usually seen in a standard AJ4 design, have been replaced with a lightweight TPU exterior frame.

Adding a touch of BMX magic, Nigel has replaced the traditional “Nike Air” with his own “Bike Air” branding. Moreover, a subtle modification of the tongue logo now reads “Bike Air Jordan”. However, it still needs to be clarified whether this branding alteration will be preserved on the main release versions of the Air Jordan 4 RM- although it may be worth noting that his past Jordan Airship PE designed exclusively for friends and family did bear this mark on the heel. So perhaps it could be considered his signature branding.

Last but not least, a mini Swoosh, a signature of Nigel’s previous collaborations with Jordan, also appears on the forefoot, meaning there is an array of fresh design details and branding makeovers to anticipate in the Air Jordan 4 RM.

Exploring the “Pro Green” Colourway

But that’s just the expected design details. The “Pro Green,” “Metallic Platinum,” “Black,” and “Sail” palette the sneaker comes in also makes for an appealing combination.

The “Pro Green” hue lavishes the upper, which is covered in premium suede for a chic transformation of the model. This elegant colour harmonises wonderfully with the cage overlays and laces, resulting in a unified and chic aesthetic for the shoe.

Taking a closer look, you’ll notice the “Sail” embroidered mini Swoosh logos on the toe cap and the “Bike Air Jordan” stamped on the tongue. Finally, the design is neatly tied together with a black and white midsole housing a visible Air unit at the heel, matched with a sturdy black rubber outsole.

While this new iteration could genuinely be the next big thing for the AJ4 model, it’s worth noting that the release might see some mild alterations from the prototype. Nigel confirms that the Jordan 4 RM he’s sporting in Greg Yuna’s video is a sample pair.

Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 RM “Pro Green” Release Details

The highly anticipated Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 RM SP “Pro Green” is scheduled to drop on July 3rd, 2024. It will be available at SNKRS US, Nike stores, and a select group of retailers. The shoes will be offered in men’s and grade school sizes, retailing at $150 USD and $120 USD, respectively.

However, chatter suggests there could be another colourway launching on the same day, so there could be another stunning sneaker to snag. But we’ll just have to hold our breath for that little titbit! Until then, you can check out some more expected Air Jordan 4 releases in the upcoming months and stay tuned to us here at Sneaker Fortress for the latest scoop on sneaker drops and reviews.
