While there have been numerous footwear collaborations with brands like adidas, Crocs, and Vans over the course of Star Wars’ 47-year existence, one partnership that has yet to come to fruition is a collection with Jordan Brand. Fortunately, the void is being filled by sneaker artist Javornie Brathwaite (@jsbthecreator), who has designed a line of Star Wars x Jordan 4 sneakers that honour various characters and themes from the renowned movie series. And his “Return of the Jedi” design is yet another force to be reckoned with.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
Many SW fans will recognise the inspiration for this particular pair as Luke Skywalker’s all-black outfits and light green lightsabre from the Return of the Jedi film.
Because of this, the majority of the sneaker is dressed in black. The greater part of the upper is denim, while the toe is a plush suede. From there, the netting, laces, and wing tabs are kept black to match the dark aesthetic of Luke’s outfits. However, the eyelets and outsole offer pops of light green to symbolise his new lightsabre colour.
The final details of the pair include Star Wars branding on the heel and tongue, along with more allusions to the film on the insoles and tongue tag design.
Although this isn’t the first green and black Star Wars sneaker design we’ve seen, it’s definitely one of our favourites, if not the most stylish and well-executed.
