The Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Chicago’ Proves Less Is More

The iconic "Chicago" colour scheme associated with Michael Jordan's tenure with the Bulls will be re-released in low-top style in 2025.

UPDATE: The “Chicago” AJ1 Low is set for a October 18th, 2025 release date.

Few colourways in the Jordan lineup live up to the same status as the iconic “Chicago” colour scheme. The classic red, white, and black combination so closely associated with Michael Jordan’s time with the Chicago Bulls is a fan favourite and always in high demand. Fortunately, sneakerheads will have another chance to pick up a pair of Air Jordan 1 “Chicago’s” when the low-top variant is re-released in 2025.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

According to sneaker insiders @zsneakerheadz, the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Chicago” will be a close, if not exact, match of the 2016 edition. We should expect the same all-leather upper with white on the base, Varsity Red on the overlays, and black on the laces, inner lining, and enlarged side Swooshes—a feature we hope will return in 2025. Finally, the “Chicago” colourway’s signature white midsole and red rubber outsole complete the design. If this version lives up to the 2016 release, Jordan Brand has just made the decision of which sneakers to pick up next year even more difficult for sneakerheads.

Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Chicago” Release Details

This low-top version of the popular “Chicago” AJ1 will be available in Holiday 2025. The sneaker will retail for $140 USD on Nike.com and at select Jordan Brand retailers, which is a fraction of the resale price that the low-top version from 2016 typically fetches online.

However, a number of other popular Air Jordan 1 High colourways are expected to drop in low-top style in 2025, most notably the Air Jordan 1 “Rookie of the Year”. Make sure to follow us on Sneaker Fortress to stay up to date on these releases and more.
