It’s clear that 2024 is far from a quiet year for the Air Jordan 3. The upcoming year is chockful of eagerly anticipated sneaker releases. These drops include not just a successor to the Jordan Brand and J Balvin’s joint venture, the stunning J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 “Rio,” or another A Ma Maniére collaboration featuring the AJ3’s silhouette, but also marks the comeback of the cherished Air Jordan 3 “Black Cat” by the end of the year. Yet, the Jumpman’s plans for the model craftily designed by Tinker Hatfield certainly do not end there. There’s also chatter of a new Air Jordan 3 “Brown Cement” colourway making its debut in 2024.
Michael Jordan’s Third Signature Shoe
When it comes to Michael Jordan’s third signature shoe, the “Cement” colourways have long held a place of honour among fans. With roots in tradition and a boost from nostalgia, they’ve earned a notable spot in the sneaker scene. Their fame can be linked to original colours, such as “White Cement” and “Black Cement”, introduced in 1988. But their timeless look and persistent appeal keep these colour schemes popular and endlessly intriguing.
Details on the Air Jordan 3 “Brown Cement”
So, what could this fresh spin on the “Cement” trend hold in store? Unfortunately, the details are nothing more than speculation at this point. Images of the Air Jordan 3 “Brown Cement” have yet to emerge.
However, we can look at the colour details (“Baroque Brown,” “Cement Grey,” “Black,” and “Sail”) teased by @zsneakerheadz as well as past designs of the model to determine what might be in the pipeline. Our team at Sneaker Fortress have used these clues to create a mockup design of what the Air Jordan 3 “Brown Cement” may look like. So, let’s explore this concept while we await the unveiling of the actual model.
The Look
The most likely design for the upper offers a “Baroque Brown” tumbled leather that lends an air of sophistication to the shoe. This textured leather is then complemented by the matching leather tongue and eyelets detailed in the design.
From there, the collar, eye stays, and tongue are adorned with the warm and familiar “Sail” tone. Meanwhile, a vibrant “White” hue brings some freshness to the mix, covering the inner lining and shoelaces and offering a stunning contrast against the varying shades of brown.
Next, the iconic elephant print is expected to wear the classic “Cement Grey” hue, wrapping around the toe and heel sections. In addition, a neat section of smooth “Black” leather on the mudguard offers a striking difference in texture and finish.
In keeping with the prevalent “Black” elements, the heel tab carrying the Jumpman logo is done in glossy black. To cap it off, a midsole in shades of “Sail” and “White” sits comfortably atop a “Black” rubber outsole. The midsole also houses the signature Air unit in the heel, sporting a tinge of black.
Remember, this design is purely speculative. The final product might look drastically different from what is depicted here. However, given the fascinating blend of colours they have to play around with, we’re hopeful that Jordan Brand might just pull off an exceptional design that turns heads. We’re eager to see how sneakerheads react to this new colourway and whether it finds the same level of acceptance and popularity as the other “Cement” variants in the future.
