Michael Jordan’s love for food is well-documented. The man who turned fighter jets, Ferraris, and Looney Tunes into iconic sneakers has once again dipped into his cravings for inspiration. This time with pizza. Yes, we’re talking melted cheese, crispy crust, tomato sauce levels of inspiration. And while it might sound like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collab waiting to happen, this new sneaker is MJ’s own flavour-packed creation: the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Pizza.”
New images from Sneaker Goods Miami give us a proper look at the kicks, which arrive dressed in Sesame, Fire Red, Black, and White. It’s not shouting “pizza!” in your face. Think leather and suede resembling the colour of baked dough, black accents representing the pan or maybe even charred crust, and Fire Red branding and outsole that’s more marinara than midsole. But it’s the details that seal the deal.
Open the box, and you’re greeted with a red-and-white checkered insole that screams pizza parlour tablecloth. The custom packaging even features phrases like “served hot!” and “made fresh since 1985,” just in case the food theme was too subtle. There’s also a Jordan-branded pizza sticker thrown in.

But, unfortunately, the Air Jordan 4 “Pizza” won’t be coming to adult sizes. Yup, this is strictly a kids-only drop. Grade school, preschool, and toddler sizes only. While your kid’s feet get pepperoni heat, yours will stay cold and disappointed. Retail is set at $160 for GS sizes, and they’ll be served on August 1 via Nike’s online store and select Jordan Brand retailers. The style code, if you’re that type of collector: IH2094-200.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Jordan Brand has teased a pizza-inspired pair. Back in 2019, there was a “Do The Right Thing” Air Jordan 4 celebrating Spike Lee’s film’s 30th anniversary, inspired by Sal’s Famous Pizzeria.
Naturally, Reddit is already cooking with opinions. One user wrote, “Bro I would buy this so quick in men’s sizing,” and another added, “I’d totally buy some Air Pizza fr.” Someone even joked, “These and all the pb n js is why I can’t stand kids,” while a more design-focused critic simply said, “The box is the only thing I like about this.”

And to be fair, they’ve got a point. Without the packaging, the pizza theme isn’t exactly obvious. There’s no slice graphic or gooey cheese lace-lock. But maybe that’s what makes it work. It’s subtle enough to wear without looking like you’re repping Domino’s.
So unless you’re under 13 or have very tiny feet, the Air Jordan 4 “Pizza” won’t be hitting your rotation anytime soon. But if you’ve got a kid who loves sneakers and snack-themed heat, this might just be the tastiest cop of the year.
