The artists at Pointures (@pointures.art) designed a Nike Air Force 1 custom inspired by a legend of motorsport, the Ford GT40. The intricate design on the shoe took over 72 hours to create, and can we say the results are perfection!
The upper is covered in glossy red-coloured leather designed to mirror the lustre of the Ford GT40’s bodywork. Pointures also customised the AF1 model with metal attachments on the Swooshes, heel, and eyestays. Not to mention, they’ve significantly altered the lacing system to give the sneaker a sleeker look, not unlike the American supercar.

For those unfamiliar with the beautiful and powerful Ford GT40, it’s the car that helped the American Motor Company beat its Italian sports car rivals at the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hour race (a feat you can watch loosely enacted in the 2019 film Ford v Ferrari, starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon).
The car’s sleek lines, metallic trimmings, as well as racing number all ended up on this beautiful custom. Of course, all the attention to detail hasn’t gone unnoticed. One Instagram user simply commented, “The details,” while another wrote, “beautiful work. This is art.”

What could be more important for fans of the sports car is that these sneakers can be customised through the JAMAIVU official site. The company has collaborated with Pointures to deliver sneakerheads and automotive enthusiasts shoes inspired by some of the world’s most iconic race cars. It’s intended to be a work of art that tells the history of these iconic machines.
With the click of a button, you could have the perfect pair to wear to your next car show or race event.
