While the traditional triple black and triple white Air Force 1s will always be classics in the Swoosh lineup, the designers at Beaverton, Oregon, are certainly getting more daring (sometimes even plain whacky) with their design choices for the Bruce Kilgore-designed silhouette. From pairs covered in flies to colourways that get cleaner the more you wear them, these are the weirdest Nike Air Force 1 sneakers we’ve seen in 2025.

Air Force 1 Low “Mushroom”

These cute mushroom-themed Air Force 1s were an unexpected hit of 2025. Despite having a somewhat random theme, the sneakers include plenty of deets that made them popular among Nike’s female audience. Think nature-inspired embroidery, a pink and white colourway, and most importantly, mushroom lace locks.

Air Force 1 Low “Easter Basket”

This year’s Easter AF1 design from Nike was jam-packed with unique textures. From the woven basket material on the toe and quarters to the glossy green Swooshes that peel away to reveal a carved, chocolate-brown leather underneath, we have to say these sneakers were definitely different, but in a fun way. Find out more about the Air Force 1 Low “Easter Basket”.

Air Force 1 Low “Sea Glass”

These sea glass-inspired AF1s have been given some pretty explicit nicknames, which we won’t get into here. The concept is amazing; the execution, not so much. Okay, that’s enough said. Moving on.

Air Force 1 Low “Invisible Woman 2.0”

Technically, the translucent panels on this AF1 Low design have been done before in the 2000s, but it’s been so long that seeing them on a release in 2025 feels odd. Maybe it’s flashbacks of sweaty, fogged-up panels and sockless shoe moments that have us concerned about their return to the sneaker scene. We do appreciate the addition of the solid white toe overlay to this upcoming design, though. Find out more about the Air Force 1 Low “Invisible Woman 2.0”.

Air Force 1 “Dirty” Pack

A pair of cooked AF1s that look newer the more you wear them? It seems too good to be true, right? Well, Nike actually introduced their triple white and triple black colourways in worn-out styles that look slightly better with each use. The trick lies in the paint job. The scuffed and marked detailing all wear away with time. Whether it actually works or is just a brilliant marketing ploy remains to be seen. Find out more about the Air Force 1 “Dirty” Pack.

Air Force 1 “Metalwork”

There have been a few Air Force 1s with metal Swooshes this year, but this Medium Ash/Anthracite/Black colourway is the best one by far. The upper has a distressed and burnt finish, while white marks tarnish the sole. But, of course, the jagged, riveted-down Swooshes are the highlight of this look. It’s as if the AF1 just made it through a post-apocalyptic battle and came out looking even cooler. Find out more about the Air Force 1 “Metalwork”.

Air Force 1 “Corduroy Pack”

Corduroy isn’t new to the Air Force 1, but this time the Swoosh Label has outfitted the iconic ’80s silhouette in a tonal corduroy look from head to toe. Even the finish on the fabric looks unique. You’ve really got to stare at these to appreciate the attention to detail and texture. Find out more about the Air Force 1 “Corduroy Pack”.

Air Force 1 Low “Houseflies”

Seeing the Air Force 1 covered in fly graphics was not on my 2025 bingo card. But here we are, with Nike releasing a pair of “Houseflies” AF1 sneakers. Whether these should sit in the trash with the rest of their winged buddies or actually get a chance to see the light of day is totally up to personal preference. While we may vote for the former, we will agree that these quirky shoes are definitely going to be great conversation starters. Find out more about the Air Force 1 Low “Houseflies”.

Air Force 1 Low “Leaf Camo”

Another bizarre Air Force 1 Low colourway releasing in 2025 is the “Leaf Camo” edition. It’s literally fake grass and leaves slapped onto a shoe. It even includes little cutouts to make the leaves look like they are blowing in the wind. Sure, sneakerheads want something different, but Nike may be getting a bit too creative with their sneaker offerings. Find out more about the Air Force 1 Low “Leaf Camo”.

Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low Protro “Lenticular”

Nike created a snakeskin-covered Air Force 1 Low colourway that changes colour in different lighting. The pair is inspired by Kobe Bryant’s Black Mamba nickname and features silver lace dubraes that reflect his ideology. Sure, it’s not the weirdest Air Force 1 of 2025, but it’s definitely distinctive.
