If you have been sitting around hoping that Nike, or one of the magnificent custom sneaker artists out there, would make the already awesome Air Force 1 sneaker even better by adding more 3D elements to the sneakers, Baby Goat Customs is here to answer your prayers. Let’s take a look at their magnificent “Baby Blue Floral” Air Force 1 sneakers.
“Baby Blue Floral” Air Force 1 Sneakers
The fantastic custom sneaker artist on Instagram, Baby Goat Customs, has gorgeously customised a pair of Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, elevating them to a new sphere of elegance.
Taking what was once a pair of plain white and blue AF1 sneakers, several elements have been changed and added to, providing sneakerheads with an incredibly gorgeous option. Only a few details about the outsole have been changed, so let’s jump straight into the alterations on the upper.
The upper leather is mainly left untouched, with no changes to the colour or texture. The star of the show here is the gorgeous embroidered-looking flowers and applique that have been added to the sneakers.
With a combination of what looks like glue and stitching, these floral details have been added to the sneakers’ lateral profile, spilling down from the upper onto the midsole and outsole.
The standard laces on the sneakers have been swapped out for chunky rope laces, and additional metal loops have been added to the upper to install a secondary lace system that uses more standard laces.
You can’t tell from the pictures on Instagram or the images on the website. Still, the artist has relegated most of the changes and floral elements to the lateral side of the sneakers, leaving the medial side relatively untouched, save for the stunning blue swoosh marking the side.
What we like about them
These sneakers are simply gorgeous. While floral elements might be considered feminine, they are balanced enough that they don’t immediately read as female-oriented sneakers.
The choice to leave the floral elements off the medial side is smart, functionally and visually. Functionality-wise, if florals were on the inside, they would be much more likely to get damaged with everyday use and wear. Leaving them off preserves the sneakers. Visually, it balances the sneakers and gives them an asymmetrical look. Overall, it was a great design choice.
The best part about these sneakers is that because they are created by a custom artist, you have options. If you don’t particularly like the white and blue option we are spotlighting, he has an entire range of beautiful sneakers customised for different themes and with different kinds of floral applique.
If these white and blue options aren’t your favourite, but you love the idea of these 3D floral sneakers, we highly encourage you to take a look through his Instagram or his website because you are bound to find something that you love.
Release Details
These gorgeous sneakers were first shared on the artist’s Instagram on March 12th, 2024, and have since been available on both his Etsy page and his website, selling for a price that ranges between $290 and $310, depending on your purchasing size.
Another great benefit of these sneakers being made-to-order is that if you wear a size that isn’t offered on the website, rather than going without these gorgeous sneakers, you are encouraged to Direct Message the artist so that he can make a plan for you. Little things like this make ordering from custom artists a fantastic experience.
