As soon as you set eyes on Victor Wembanyama, the towering 7’4″ basketball maestro, it’s as clear as day that he is a star in the making. Without missing a beat, Nike saw this too and promptly signed the youthful 20-year-old French sensation as a brand ambassador back in 2023. Of course, Wembanyama has already become famous for his footwear choices, one of them being the reasonably new Nike Zoom GT Hustle 2 model. Yet, the version that’s got everyone talking and the sneaker enthusiasts dribbling with anticipation is the out-of-this-world Nike GT Hustle 2 ‘Alien’ player exclusive. Well, rumour has it that this sought-after colourway could be gracing our retail shelves relatively soon.
Is this Wembanyama’s First Signature Shoe?
Before we jump in, let’s clear up a slight misunderstanding. Although named after him, the Victor Wembanyama x Nike Zoom GT Hustle 2 “Alien” isn’t the San Antonio Spurs player’s signature shoe. It’s more likely that’s yet to come. What we have here is a “PE” – player exclusive – version of Nike’s GT Hustle 2, which is a delightful nod to Wemby’s “Alien” nickname, famously coined by none other than NBA legend LeBron James.
You might remember spotting these otherworldly sneakers on Wemby’s feet during the 2024 All-Star Weekend. Well, Nike is set to drop them for all sneaker enthusiasts, bringing everyone a bit closer to the stars—or at least this star.
Design Details of the Sneaker
True to its name, the Nike Zoom GT Hustle 2 “Alien” plays up the intergalactic theme with a mesmerising combination of “Black” and “Green”. Predominantly, the shoe boasts a deep black textile exterior supplemented by Metallic Chrome Swoosh emblems and intriguing Alien-shaped additions by the heels.

The sneaker delicately incorporates the colour green through the sprinkle of green on its shoelaces and the ethereal, galactic print that adorns the toe, collar, and heel. The print is subtly reminiscent of the mesmerising aesthetic of 2012’s “Paranorman” Foamposite One sneakers (at least to me), carrying on Nike’s legacy of supernaturally inspired sneaker designs. Of course, the green intrigue extends to the inner soles, where a discreet alien graphic can be spotted.
The overall design is flawlessly finished with a black midsole peppered with white speckles, sitting atop a glow-in-the-dark outsole. The motivational phrase “Be Unique Every Day” is beautifully calligraphed beneath the footbed, adding a somewhat personalised touch. It’s precisely these thoughtful intricacies that enhance the sneakers’ uniqueness, assuring them a special place in any Nike GT Hustle 2 fan’s collection.
When and Where to Get the Nike GT Hustle 2 “Alien”
The highly anticipated Victor Wembanyama x Nike GT Hustle 2 “Alien” is rumoured to debut on May 3, 2024. Nonetheless, I would rather take this release date with a grain of salt as the official details are yet to be confirmed by Nike. When the sneakers do finally make their entrance, you’ll be given a heads-up to snag your own Alien shoes from Nike.com or from select retailers. They are available in men’s sizes for a retail cost of $170 USD.
So, if these kicks capture your attention, be sure to keep checking back for updates. In the meantime, you can follow us here at Sneaker Fortress for more sneaker drops and reviews.
