An Unreleased Kobe Bryant Sneaker Is Finally Dropping in 2026

The Nike Air Force 1 is a sneaker that refuses to age. Bruce Kilgore’s 1982 design still moves units every year, whether it’s in that timeless triple white you wore to death in high school or the triple black pair your cousin still swears looks good with cargo pants. But lately, Nike’s been pushing the envelope. We’ve seen AF1s covered in flies, sneakers that literally get cleaner the more you wear them, and colourways so experimental they make you wonder if Beaverton designers are just trolling us. And now, after nearly two decades of being a player-exclusive unicorn, one of the rarest pairs ever tied to Kobe Bryant is finally getting a public release. Yes, the Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 “Denim” is coming in 2026.

Originally created in 2006, this denim pair was strictly for Kobe himself. Few pairs have ever popped up, and when they do, they come with a price tag that makes you rethink your life choices. Case in point: a men’s size 12 is currently sitting on GOAT for nearly $9,500. That’s the resale price of a small used car, or a lot of McDonald’s Happy Meals if you’re counting.

The design is pure 2000s swagger. The upper blends two shades of denim, with indigo overlays resembling the outside of your jeans and lighter, washed-out underlays mimicking the inside. Frayed edges run across the panels, and orange stitching ties it all together, matching both the outsole and Kobe’s logo on the lateral heel. And, now, after years of whispers and leaks, Nike is finally giving everyone a shot at owning them.

The timing isn’t random, though. Kobe’s sneaker legacy has only grown stronger since his tragic passing in 2020. Nike and the Bryant family have been relentless in keeping his story alive, delivering tributes that speak to both longtime fans and a new generation. Just this week, the Nike Kobe 3 came back as a Protro for the first time, dressed in an all-white “Halo” colourway to honour what would have been Kobe’s 47th birthday on August 23. Nike even rebuilt the sneaker from the ground up, with a full-length Zoom Strobel, Cushlon 3.0 midsole, improved traction, and a more breathable upper. Later this year, a white and blue “Christmas” edition is dropping to keep the Mamba magic going through the holidays.

And that’s not all. Since last year, Nike has been rolling out Kobe-inspired Air Force 1s like clockwork, including five different colourways. Six if you count both versions of the “Lakers Away” edition that landed in December. The Denim AF1 will be the crown jewel of this Kobe-inspired run, landing right on its 20th anniversary.

The Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 “Denim” is expected to drop in summer 2026, likely through the Snkrs app and select retailers. No word yet on price, but given the hype, expect the resale market to go wild.
