It’s pizza time! We all know just how much the Ninja Turtles love pizza. In fact, their love for pizza is so strong that it has become synonymous with their crime-fighting adventures. Whether it’s a classic pepperoni or a unique combination of toppings, the Turtle brothers always find solace and satisfaction in a cheesy slice of za. Sean Fontenot of @colormefresh has managed to capture the essence of the Ninja Turtles’ pizza obsession with this TMNT Air Jordan 1. This creative artist keeps blowing us away with his magnificent designs. From his TMNT & Shredder Air Jordan 1 sneaker that just ooze personality to his insane attention to detail on his The Joker Air Jordan 1 custom, Fontenot’s talent truly knows no bounds. And this TMNT Air Jordan 1 is no exception.

The overall theme of the TMNT Air Jordan 1  sneaker is based on the Turtle bodacious ride, better known as the Party Wagon. The heroes in a half shell have spent countless hours cruising around in this iconic vehicle, fighting crime, and, well, munching on pizza. Fontenot perfectly captures the aesthetics of this awesome van, utilising vibrant greens and yellow accents to bring the Party Wagon to life on the Air Jordan 1 silhouette.

The sneaker’s overlays take on a gradient effect, starting with a darker green above the sole and gradually transitioning to a lighter shade of green towards the upper. The yellow accents, seen on the toe box, mid panels, and large leather tongue labels, add a pop of colour that perfectly complements the overall design. The turtle’s van theme is further emphasised through subtle details like Party Wagon lettering on the left tongue label and the resin turtle shell lace locks strapped onto the orange laces.  These subtle details help to bring the aesthetic of the van to life and create a nostalgic connection to the beloved TMNT vehicle.

Each Nike Swoosh takes on a turtle persona, with the eyes of each hero in a half shell painted onto the iconic checkmark. The heel of the sneaker boasts a beautifully painted turtle shell pattern. The words “Cowabunga” are written in a bold pink font on the left sneaker, while the right sneaker references another pop culture icon – Tony from Scarface. Fontenot’s client, for whom this particular custom was created, is a huge Scarface fan, so the custom sneaker artist made sure to add Tony to these custom kicks.

Tying together the sneaker design is a beige midsole and yellow outsole. The Jordan 1’s midsoles have been coffee dyed to produce this stunning beige colour that adds depth and contrast to the vibrant greens and yellows. The midsole also boasts TMNT lettering in green on the left lateral side, paying homage once again to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Finally, completing the look, the detail we’ve all been waiting for is a generous helping of dripping cheese oozing throughout the sneaker’s upper. This unique design element adds a playful touch that perfectly captures the essence of these iconic characters’ love for pizza.

The meticulousness of Fontenot’s work is evident in every brushstroke and detail on the sneakers. From the carefully placed cheese drippings to the handmade resin lace lock, every design aspect is thoughtfully executed. The result is a pair of sneakers that pays tribute to the beloved cartoon characters and showcases Fontenot’s artistic talent and attention to detail.
