Why the Air Jordan 11 ‘Cyborg’ Is a Sneakerhead’s Dream

This stylish Air Jordan 11 sneaker design pays homage to DC's Cyborg with its futuristic, metallic appearance.

Cyborg may be one of the most underappreciated superheroes in the DC Universe. For years, this part-human, part-android hero has been overlooked for his own adventures. Even when he was given the green light for his own movie, the project was scrapped before it could come to fruition. Still, we can’t help but think that Cyborg’s distinct and futuristic appearance would make for a great collaborative sneaker design with the Air Jordan 11. So, to commemorate almost four and a half decades of the character’s existence, we created a concept sneaker that pays respect to his distinctive style.

A Closer Look At The Design

Similar to Cyborg, metal features dominate this AJ11 concept. The bottom portion of the shoe is encircled by glossy silver patent leather that resembles futuristic, sleek armour. The upper is then composed of black nubuck with matching eyelets and laces to maintain the design’s balance and coherence. The design finishes with a black midsole, grey outsole and a touch of red below. We had to incorporate a touch of crimson to the design to reference the character’s red eyelight.

Is the “Cyborg” Air Jordan 11 Available for Purchase?

Unfortunately, this elegant silver and black style is currently only a concept. However, if you’re excited to see the AJ11 get this Android-inspired look, don’t hesitate to get in touch with a local sneaker customiser to have a custom pair made for you.

BUT, if all you’re interested in are Air Jordan 11 sneakers (and we can’t really blame you), some incredible official designs are coming our way next year. From a ‘Rare Air’ design to the return of the models coveted ‘Gamma Blue and “Bred” colourways, there will be plenty of options to choose from in 2025. So, to keep up with these future releases and also discover more customs and concepts, don’t forget to follow us here at Sneaker Fortress.
