With all the buzz around the retro release of the legendary Wu-Tang x Nike Dunk High sneakers, it’s little wonder that a plethora of custom designs celebrating this legendary sneaker are popping up on our social media feeds. These luxurious Wu-Tang Air Jordan sneakers by Roger Hung of @shoecutterz lead the charge, utilising the AJ1 and AJ3 silhouettes.
A Closer Look At The Sneakers
Like their muse, these models adopt the Wu-Tang Clan’s signature “Black” and “Goldenrod” colour scheme, thoughtfully applied to suit the respective sneaker models. Moreover, the design is elevated through the choice of premium materials.
To start, the AJ1 is decked out in black Italian Fullgrain Smooth leather on the upper, complemented by matching embossed Croc Cowhide on the toe and eye stays. Yellow Tumbled Cowhide then accents the toe box, side Swooshes, and heel, creating a striking contrast. Additional nods to the hip-hop group include their logo embroidered on the tongue and heel, as well as “Protect” and “Ya Neck” lyrics stitched across the heel counters. The look is completed with a white midsole and yellow rubber outsole, offering both familiarity and uniqueness.
The AJ3 model, on the other hand, features black Italian Fullgrain Smooth Cowhide on the upper, paired with embossed Croc Cowhide on the mudguard, eyestays, and collar. Yellow Waxed Nubuck replaces the signature elephant print material on the toe and heel, with hints of colour subtly highlighting the eyelets. Custom Wu-Tang back tabs and hang tags, then pay special homage to the NY rap group. The pair is finished with a white midsole and black rubber outsole, creating a stylish yet hardcore design.
Are The Wu-Tang x Air Jordan Sneakers Available For Purchase?
Sadly, these unique pieces were created as part of a “Protect Ya J’s” pack exclusively for one of Hung’s clients. However, if you’re interested in a high-end custom pair, you might be able to commission a similar design for your favoured silhouette.
