Following the comeback of the adidas Equipment earlier in 2025, the brand is back with another EQT design, this time in the form of the adidas Adizero Boston 13 EQT.
Unlike the Adizero Adios Pro 4, which aims to push you towards your personal best on race day, the Adizero Boston 13 EQT provides runners with an alternative for training. Unlike most other training shoes, which prioritise stability and balance to avoid potential injury, the Adizero Boston 13 EQT is the perfect training companion for those seeking faster tempo workouts, transitioning to the Adios Pro 4 on race day.
The Boston silhouette draws from a rich history of performance running, having first been introduced in 1980. As its name suggests, the shoe is now in its 13th iteration, featuring the latest technologies while remaining true to its last heritage. The Boston is a symbol of adidas’ long-standing commitment to aid runners chase their best, whether its race day or during your everyday training.
adidas has walked the journey with many of its athletes. The engineering of the Adizero Boston 13 is another example of the brands’ continued commitment to this cause, having designed the shoe with and for runners in mind. And there are plenty of details throughout its design as evidence of this.
Firstly, there’s the ENERGYRODS 2.0. Drawing inspiration from the shape of the metatarsal bones in the feet, this alternative to the carbon plate provides all the energy return and propulsion needed for more efficient running. Next is its lightweight mesh upper to provide comfort while on the move. Its enhanced comfort is also derived from a slight design change, featuring a padded tongue and collar to provide more comfort even on top of the foot.
The improved LIGHTSTRIKE Pro delivers an improvement of 13.8% of the previous foam technology, making the midsole both softer and more comfortable. Lastly, there the LIGHTTRAXION outsole. Having already been featured in the Adizero Adios Pro 4, the outsole has now been introduced to the Boston models. The outsole has been constructed for a lighter approach without sacrificing your grip underfoot.
The Adizero Boston 13 EQT makes its debut at its namesake, the Boston Marathon. In addition to the shoe, adidas has also launched a wide variety of apparel, keeping you stylish from head to toe. As with the majority of the EQT products, it features its iconic retro teal colours, and includes white and black colourways.
The adidas Adizero Boston 13 EQT will be available in two colourways from 5 May 2025, including FTWR White and Pure Teal. This will be followed by a broader Boston EQT release on 4 June 2025. It will be available in-store, on adidas.co.za and the adidas app.
