Adidas Harden Vol. 9 Global Blue: The Silver Surfer of Sneakers

Adidas has steadily taken the lead in the lifestyle sneaker market with models like the Samba, Gazelle, and Spezial. However, the three stripes may be vying for an even bigger slice of the pie, with several strong basketball options currently in the works for 2025. Aside from the reintroduction of the adidas Kobe 2 (now known as the Crazy 2) and the anticipated release of the Anthony Edwards 2 (AE2) next year, the brand intends to release the futuristic and oh-so-stylish Adidas Harden Vol 9 as part of their basketball lineup. And although James Harden’s upcoming basketball offering has already been revealed in a number of anticipated colourways, the “Global Blue” iteration seems to be the pair every fan wants to get their hands on.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

The icy appearance of this Global Blue, Core Black, and White version of the Harden Vol. 9 has earned it the nickname “Silver Surfer” among sneakerheads, and we won’t dispute that comparison. The sleek silvery blue TPU cage that surrounds the shoe gives it a futuristic appearance that does somewhat remind us of the classic Marvel character.

On either side of this cage are crescent-shaped cutouts that mark out the signature Three Stripes. You also get a crisp white sock-like inner bootie, Harden’s logo embossed on the heel, and another set of Three Stripes that extends along the back of the sole unit. It’s a simple and clean design that definitely has us excited for this model to finally launch next year. We’re just hoping adidas will step up the performance features as they have the aesthetics of James Harden’s upcoming signature shoe.

Adidas Harden Vol 9 “Global Blue” Release Details

For the time being, we await the full overview of the new model’s specifications as well as information about its impending debut. However, signs point to a release during the NBA All-Star Break in mid-February through adidas.com and select retailers. Even though prices are currently expected to be approximately $160 USD, all specifics will be confirmed in due course.
