A Closer Look at the Sneaker
For his interpretation of the model, BRU SLEE transforms the 1949 silhouette into a bulky, exaggerated version with a puffed-out sole unit. Yet despite this modern overhaul, the sneaker stays true to its heritage with a textured gum rubber material on the sole.
While there aren’t too many other modern design elements added to this concept, the exaggerated sole alone is enough to propel the Samba into the future. Of course, a bit of patent leather on the upper and a tonal colourway akin to the Dingyun Zhang Samba collab would create the ideal pair of futuristic kicks for any collection.
Is The adidas Samba X BRU SLEE “Puff Sneaker” Available for Purchase?
Sadly, this pair is just a concept at the moment. However, given Ilija Nikolić’s impressive portfolio, including designs for top-tier brands like Salomon, Dolce & Gabbana, and Reebok, it’s not far-fetched to imagine his perfectly sci-fi designs becoming a reality soon.
