This year commemorates three decades of the Air Jordan 10; however, we’ve yet to see any fresh or retro colourways to celebrate this milestone. The good news is that 2025 is set to remedy this oversight. We’re eagerly awaiting the return of a rare gem in the model’s lineup—the Air Jordan 10 OG “Steel.” But with this classic’s comeback is the return of a little detail that fans will either love or hate.

A Look Back At The Sneaker

To fully understand why this release might split opinions, let’s go back to 1994, the year the Air Jordan 10 OG “Steel” first hit the shelves.

During this period, Michael Jordan was taking his first break from basketball, and renowned designer Tinker Hatfield crafted the AJ10 to honour his remarkable career. Notably, Tinker included a controversial toe cap without Michael’s final endorsement. So, when the time came for mass production, it was too late to modify the design despite Jordan’s disapproval of this feature.

Consequently, his royal Airness ensured that all subsequent releases of the model were altered to omit the toe cap, making the OG 1994 “Steel” 10s a collector’s rarity. But fast forward to 2025, and these legendary sneakers are set to make a comeback in their rare and authentic form.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

The upcoming “Steel” Air Jordan 10s will boast the classic white leather upper and overlays—complete with the original toe cap, of course. The upper will be complemented by black and grey details on the tongue, eyelets, inner lining, and sole unit.

Another intriguing feature re-appearing on this release is the dark powder blue Jumpman logo on the outsole, staying true to the OG design. Additionally, Michael Jordan’s early career highlights will be showcased throughout the bottom of the outsole.

Air Jordan 10 OG “Steel” Release Details

This nostalgic colourway is scheduled for release on August 2nd, 2025. You can purchase the pair from Nike.com and selected Jordan Brand retailers in full family sizing, with men’s sizes priced at $200 USD each.

While we await more specific release details, sneaker enthusiasts can check out all the throwback releases Jordan Brand has planned for 2025, including gems like the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Shattered Backboard”, the Undefeated x Air Jordan 4, and even the Air Jordan 14 Red “Ferrari”, to name just a few. So, stay tuned to Sneaker Fortress for more sneaker drops and reviews.
