The Jordan Brand ‘Bloodline’ series, a collection that hasn’t seen a new release in four years, is making a return in 2025 with a fresh Air Jordan 12 colourway.

What is the Bloodline Series?

The “Bloodline” series made its debut in 2019 when Jordan Brand introduced a special Air Jordan 1 design. This design brilliantly recalled a memorable commercial from Michael Jordan’s heyday.

This sneaker was inspired by the 1985 “Who Said Man Was Not Meant To Fly” campaign, showing Michael Jordan soaring for his iconic dunk, jet sounds and all.

The sneaker mirrored the legendary Chicago colourway but with a twist. It merged black, red, and white in a fresh arrangement. Red piping traced the edges of the black tumbled leather overlay, which sat on a white leather base. The campaign slogan was also proudly displayed on the heel of the insole, firmly hitting home its theme.

Subsequently, a new version of the design emerged in 2020, reversing the colour of the overlays and taking on the moniker Air Jordan 1 High OG “Bloodline 2.0.”

Now, as we look to 2025, the Air Jordan 12 is set to become the latest addition to the Bloodline series. Mock-ups by @zsneakerheadz provide a glimpse of the expected colour blocking, indicating that the final product will likely mirror these previews, though potentially with some variations in materials.

A Closer Look at the Design

The new AJ 12 colourway blends “Black” and “Varsity Red” across the iconic 1996 model’s design. The sneaker showcases an all-black leather upper with textured overlays that elegantly hug the sides.

Varsity Red accents provide a lively touch, appearing prominently on the branding elements and pull tabs.

A tonal black midsole and outsole seamlessly unify the look, with the Jumpman logo peeking out in striking red underneath.

While this colourway is commendable, it might disappoint those anticipating a different black and red Air Jordan 12 release next year.

No More Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game”

Many of us had high hopes for the return of the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” in 2025. After all, who wouldn’t want another chance to own a shoe linked to one of Michael Jordan’s most legendary moments in NBA history? Unfortunately, this much-anticipated reissue won’t be happening. However, we’ll have the upcoming “Bloodline” edition to ease the disappointment—if only a bit.

Release Details

The  Air Jordan 12 “Bloodline” is set to drop in January 2025. While Jordan Brand (JB) has yet to disclose the precise release details, these stylish kicks are expected to be available for $200 USD in men’s sizes from Nike.com and select Jordan retailers.

If you have your eye on this pair, make sure to check back for the latest updates on their release. In the meantime, you can check out the upcoming Air Jordan 12 “Phantom” release set for this year and keep following us here at Sneaker Fortress for more exciting sneaker drops and reviews.
