2024 finally saw the first CFP National Championship victory for the Michigan Wolverines since back in 1997. To celebrate the momentous occasion, Jordan Brand gifted players and faculty a special edition Air Jordan 12 “Michigan” PE with tonnes of special details. Thankfully, sneaker insiders at English Sole have graciously provided sneakerheads with a closer look at the beautiful kicks.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
The player exclusive AJ12 shows off Michigan’s iconic navy blue and yellow colours throughout. The base comprises navy pebbled leather with premium suede mudguards, while a bright yellow highlights branding on the heel tab, inner tongue and insoles. Golden accents then draw attention to the eyelets and midfoot tab, while white finishes off the sole unit with a classic touch.
The design was made to commemorate the Wolverines’ 15-0 record for the 2023-2024 season, as well as “1000 Wins” for the team (as can be spotted on the inner tongue labels). After defeating Maryland in November, Michigan became the first collegiate programme to reach the 1000 wins milestone, and this sneaker is the perfect souvenir to remember a fantastic season.
Will the Air Jordan 12 “Michigan” PE Be Released?
Only 240 pairs of these AJ 12 PEs were made (each numbered), and they were designed specifically for the University of Michigan football team and faculty. Of course, this does not rule out the possibility of a comparable design becoming widely available in the future, but for the time being, it appears that these sneakers will remain a rare find.
