The Air Jordan 4 has already enjoyed an awe-inspiring 2024, as Jordan Brand focuses on this celebrated silhouette to mark its 35th anniversary.  But the excitement doesn’t stop there. With the brand itself hitting its 40th milestone next year, enthusiasts can look forward to even more thrilling collaborations and releases from the iconic Tinker Hatfield model. This includes the prospect of exclusive designs like the “Rare Air Laser” Air Jordan 4.

2005’s “Rare Air Laser” Air Jordan 4

For many sneaker enthusiasts, the ‘Laser’ Air Jordan 4 series holds a special place in their hearts, with particularly fond memories of its past releases in 2005 and 2015.

The striking black and grey colourway, accented with vibrant red details was released in August 20th of 2005 to commemorate the brand’s 20th anniversary. The sneaker was released in limited quantities, and like all things’ rare,’ it quickly became a grail among sneakerheads.

Riding on the success of the 2005 release, Jordan Brand reintroduced the “Laser” theme in 2015 for their 30th anniversary, opting for a sleek white and chrome palette.

Now, according to @zsneakerheads, we can all look forward to the return of this cherished concept for the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 4 in 2025. But this time, expect a fresh “Black,” “Fire Red,” “Deep Royal Blue,” “Dark Smoke Grey,” and “Tech Grey” colour scheme.

A Closer Look at the Design

While official images of the new Air Jordan 4 “Rare Air Laser” aren’t yet available, speculative mock-ups give us a glimpse of what to expect.

Sneaker enthusiasts can look forward to a design reminiscent of the 2005 “Black Laser” colourway. This version features a dark upper adorned with intricate laser etchings. Vibrant “Fire Red” and “Deep Royal Blue” highlights will then tastefully accentuate the base design.

Notably, this Air Jordan 4 will reclaim its coveted ‘Rare Air’ status, signifying its limited production. This unique feature will be concealed beneath a removable Velcro tongue tag, which unveils its ‘Rare Air’ credentials when detached.

We can also anticipate the original “Nike Air” branding on the heel, an element sure to heighten the sneaker’s appeal and excitement among collectors. The model is listed as “OG,” often used for original colourways, hinting at a nod to the return of the classic branding.

However, remember that the actual colour blocking and details still need to be confirmed and might differ from the mock-ups. So, be sure to check back for official updates and release information to see the confirmed design of this much-anticipated Air Jordan 4 release.

What does this mean for the “Atmosphere Grey” release in 2025?

While rumours suggested an “Atmosphere Grey” sneaker featuring the previously mentioned “Rare Air” detailing could debut in 2025, Jordan Brand is now anticipated to release the distinctive “Rare Air Laser” design in its place. However, at this moment, the Jumpman brand has yet to confirm that the “Rare Air Laser” Air Jordan 4s will indeed launch next year.
