Crazy concepts are nothing new to sneaker culture. We’ve seen sneakers come in just above every shape, style and theme – dipped in concrete, painted in metallic silver, and even covered in feathers. Heck, we even recently covered the LEGO x Nike concept sneaker that looks like a LEGO brick. Still, we were taken aback by this custom ALDI Jordan 4 – basically, a pair of 4s completely crafted from ALDI shopping bags. And what’s crazier is that the designer is selling them for $5000 each.
100 Hours, ALDI Bags, and a Whole Lot of Dedication
The custom sneaker world has always thrived on bringing wild, creative ideas to life. The creator of these ALDI Jordan 4 sneakers claims to have spent over 100 hours crafting and shaping every detail using nothing but ALDI grocery bags (and, of course, the original AJ4). The result is a bright blue, red, navy, white and yellow sneaker that represents both brands quite nicely. The name? The creator, referred to as “WhatDoYuMean”, is calling them the “Bring Your Own Bag” Air Jordan 4.
In the viral Instagram video reel shared by Got Sole, the creator, posing next to someone cosplaying as Mr. T, can be seen flexing about his one-of-a-kind sneaker masterpiece, which he believes is actually worth a lot more than the $5000 he is asking per pair.
“Hey, Sucker! We at Got Sole. And I got the Aldi 4s. Take it away WhatDoYuMean,” shouts the Mr T cosplayer in the classic A-Team voice, making the video even stranger.

The Internet Reacts: Genius or Madness?
As you’d expect, sneakerheads have strong opinions on these kicks. The comment section reads:
- “This is peak sneaker culture. DIY hypebeasts, take notes.”
- “Bro really turned ALDI bags into a grail. Respect.”
- “For $5,000, do they at least come with some free groceries?”
- “I respect the talent but definitely not worth $5k.”
- “Well Im a fool so pitty me cause I ain’t paying $5000 for some **** like that.”
While many loved the creativity on display, most agreed that they would be spending five stacks on the custom sneakers.
