Long before the current uproar surrounding the upcoming The Crow reboot starring Bill Skarsgård even started, Brandon Lee was undeniably The Crow‘s face and will arguably continue to be even after the reboot. He left a lasting impression on the cinema world to the point where the movie became a cult classic. This custom artist showed their love for the movie with a gorgeous pair of personalised Nike Air Force 1 sneakers inspired by the 1994 classic film The Crow.

The Crow (1994)

Loved for being a darker take on the superhero film genre, The Crow was directed by Alex Proyas and famously starred Brandon Lee in his last film appearance because of a fatal injury with a prop gun during the movie’s filming. It’s partly due to the impact of this fatal accident that the movie now has a cult following, with fans around the world continuing to adore the film about death that essentially became a living memorial to Brandon Lee.

In the film, Lee stars as the main character, Eric Draven, who is killed along with his fiancée, but because of the spirit of the Crow, he can come back as a sort of avenging angel. The story continues once again with Bill Skarsgård stepping in as the main character in 2024, and some fans aren’t excited about it.

Many fans still consider Brandon Lee to be the only Eric Draven, and many artists pay homage to the phenomenal actor through art and recreations, such as this gorgeous pair of custom Nike “The Crow” Air Force 1 sneakers.

To say that these sneakers are beautiful would be an understatement of criminal proportions. The colourway is a monochromatic dream, employing only black and white, which is incredibly fitting for the motif of the original movie and Brandon Lee’s character.

The outsole is a thin strip of back beneath a thick white midsole that brings black back into the look thanks to the threading that circumvents the sneaker.

Looking up at the leather upper of these sneakers, each part is gorgeous, and it’s challenging to choose where to start.

At the heel, stunning silhouettes of trees and crows decorate the back and the tail-end of the Nike Swoosh, with airbrushed shadows added to give the white sneakers a sense of darkness surrounding the birds.

On the lateral side of the sneakers, Brandon Lee’s face as The Crow decorates the front end of the Nike Swoosh as well as the surrounding quarter area of the shoes before the quote “It can’t rain all the time” is written in black against the toe area and mudguard, backdropped by cloudy, airbrushed skies with white impressions of bolts of lightning surround it.

On the medial side, Brandon Lee, as the crow, appears again in one of his signature poses with the crow that gives him his name and his power on his shoulder, once again backdropped by a lightning-lit sky.

To top it all off, the black stitching throughout the sneakers adds definition and depth and matches both the outsole and the inner lining as it crests over the edges of the collar.

These gorgeous sneakers were initially shared on February 6, 2021, on the Personal Sneaker Instagram page, where it was shared that the customisations that were made to the sneakers were done by hand. This artist’s incredible love for the brand is evident, thanks to the artistry that went into making this gorgeous pair of custom sneakers.
