Jordan Brand’s college PEs have been gradually popping up since the beginning of this year. But many of these exclusive designs have drawn criticism for having, well, essentially the same aesthetics. Yet we cannot deny that colour combinations have played a significant role in how sneaker enthusiasts have received these PEs, and the Air Jordan 4 PE from Howard University is undoubtedly one of the best.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
Given that every other Air Jordan 4 PE from this year (2025) has the same details, the sneaker does look all too familiar, but the varsity’s distinctive indigo blue across the upper gives the shoe a more upscale air.
A textured stingray leather is used for the heel plate, tongue, and toe cap, while the rest of the shoe comprises a dark plush suede. Metallic gold branding on the tongue and heel plus shining diamond stones in lieu of the Jumpman’s trademark basketball then give this sneaker an even more luxe feel. Not forgetting the golden hangtags featuring the Howard Bison logo and the sole unit and laces that add the right amount of white to the overall look.
Simply put, the colourway of these PEs is perfect.
Is The Howard University Air Jordan 4 PE Going To Be Available For Purchase?
Yet, like other PEs in the series, such as the UCLA Bruins and “UNC” designs, this AJ4 colourway will not be released to the public. Only a few pairs were made specifically for the players and staff at Howard University. If you’re lucky, though, you might discover a pair or two on the resale market in the future.
While the Howard University Air Jordan 4 PE may be out of reach for most, there’s an array of other Air Jordan 4 releases to look forward to this year. With eighteen exciting drops on the horizon, including the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 collab in a new navy hue, the return of the original ‘White Cement’ Jordan 4, and the Air Jordan 4 ‘Forget Me Not’ in honour of Mother’s Day, there’s plenty to be excited about. So, stay tuned to Sneaker Fortress for more on these and other sneaker releases.
