I wouldn’t blame you if you haven’t heard of the incredible, discrete Montreal-based design studio JJJJound. The studio has an incredibly niche aesthetic that has become increasingly popular with the current “Clean Girl/Guy” aesthetic that has been making the rounds on TikTok. If you love a neutral-toned minimalist look, their latest collaboration sneaker, the JJJJound x Reebok Club C “Tan Suede”, might be for you.
JJJJound x Reebok Club C “Tan Suede”
Taking on their usual sense of sophistication, with their clean, minimalist look and neutral tones, JJJJound has transformed the classic Reebok silhouette: the Club C. Transformed is a bit of a strong word because the brand hasn’t done much to stray from the classic design of the sneakers, except for removing anything about the design that could be deemed as “unnecessary”. Let’s take a detailed look.
As usual, let’s start from the bottom. Looking at the outsole first, a light grey is employed to anchor the sneakers and tie all the lighter elements through the Tan sneakers.
Incredibly clean and crisp white appears on the pebbled rubber midsole, as well as the scarce accents throughout the sneakers, such as the laces and the only instance of branding.
All the usual branding of the Reebok sneakers has been stripped away to reveal the elegant bones of the sneakers. This means that there are no tongue labels on the nylon tongue, no different-coloured overlays, and really nothing besides the elegant midfoot window that tells you this is a JJJJound pair of sneakers just from looking at it.
Removing all of the Reebok branding really challenges the idea that their design is strong enough to speak for itself because you can instantly recognise these as Reebok sneakers, even without a speck of branding.
Last but certainly not least, the upper is made of incredibly luxurious tan suede, all tied together in the same shade, with nothing but the standard Club C perforations and stitching to demarcate its brand.
The gorgeous sneakers prove you don’t need to make a huge splash to make waves in the fashion industry.
What we like about them
These minimalistic sneakers have an air that makes them feel incredibly luxurious. However, the price isn’t that of a luxury pair of sneakers but rather an affordable staple that any sneakerhead should have in their collection.
While JJJJound is known for its minimalistic and clean look, it also proves that you don’t need a massive budget to achieve this look and that you can do so with a great-quality pair of sneakers.
JJJJound x Reebok Club C “Tan Suede” Release Details
So far, very little has been shared about the sleek JJJJound x Reebok Club C “Tan Suede” sneakers, so a set release date still needs to be decided. The only images currently available are those shared by the official @jjjjound Instagram account, where the sneakers fit in perfectly with the rest of their minimalist aesthetic and pairs gorgeously with their “Coastal Summer” Tan fit.
According to their incredibly simple caption, “JJJJ RBK SS24”, we can expect to see these sneakers in the Spring/Summer 2024 season. Some sleuthing on House of Heat’s behalf has revealed that the sneakers will retail for around $120.
