The Jordan Jumpman Jack may have only been on the scene for about a year but has quickly become a favourite in the sneaker community. We’ve spotted Travis Scott in colourways inspired by the Boston Celtics and even a striking red pair, paying homage to the San Francisco 49ers. Yet, sneaker artist John Trottier, known as @johnnyskicks_ on social media, has envisioned an even more intriguing version inspired by the rapper’s greatest mentor, Kanye West. Check out the Jordan Jumpman Jack “College Dropout” – a definite eye-catcher.
A Closer Look At The Sneaker
Drawing inspiration from the colour palette and imagery of Kanye West’s debut album, The College Dropout, Trottier has created an aesthetic that bridges nostalgia with contemporary streetwear. Now, we know Kanye has been a figure of debate in recent years, but there’s no denying the profound influence his music has had on the industry and Scott himself.
The sneaker begins with a beige canvas base, complemented by dark brown leather on the toe and heel overlays and vibrant red leather on the eyestays. A muted mustard midsole and a sail outsole ground this striking blend of colours.
But the pièce de résistance is undoubtedly the painted bear head on the heel, a nod to The Dropout Bear, which has become an emblem of Kanye West’s early music career.
It’s a design we’d love to see on the Jordan Jumpman Jack in the future. Given Travis Scott’s close relationship with Kanye, who knows what exciting possibilities lie ahead.
How To Get Your Hands On The Jordan Jumpman Jack “College Dropout”
Sadly, these striking sneakers are, for now, but a mere concept from John Trottier. Nevertheless, you can connect with Trottier on Instagram to discuss commissioning a custom pair or to get insights on their possible future release.
That said, there are some stunning colourways set to drop for this model later in the year. Be sure to watch out for the “Thunder Blue” and “Mocha” variations hitting the shelves in the coming months.
