Michael Jordan is all about comebacks. And so are his sneakers. In 2026, the Air Jordan 4 “Bred” is finally gearing up for another comeback. The sneaker that helped MJ hit “The Shot” in 1989 and has fueled sneaker obsessions for 36 years is rumoured to drop again during Holiday 2026. Retail price: around $220. Expect it on the SNKRS app and, if Nike shows mercy, at select retailers before resellers scoop everything up.
2019 was the last time the original nubuck version showed up. Before that, we saw Jumpman-heeled retros in 2012 and 2008, plus the iconic 1999 pair that many collectors still swear is “the best retro ever produced.” One fan once joked, “I’d trade my car before I trade my ‘99 Breds.” Hopefully they didn’t drive anything too fancy. Trading a Toyota seems fair.

Of course, Jordan Brand couldn’t resist keeping the silhouette alive while we waited. The “Bred Reimagined” dropped in 2024 with a full leather upper. Nice quality, sure, but purists were yelling, demanding that OG suede back. The upcoming pair is expected to deliver just that. A shape closer to the original ’89 cut. Nike Air on the heel. Black nubuck with Cement Grey and Fire Red accents. It’s the whole deal. Sneaker Market Romania even reported the style codes: FV5029-001 for men, IB4171-001 for grade school, IB4388-001 for preschool and IB4387-001 for toddlers.
Even with all the rereleases, the Jordan 4 hasn’t slowed down. StockX had the model topping its best-sellers earlier this year, with the Black Cat retro breaking platform records. And there’s still more heat coming before 2025 even starts – like the Dark Mocha collab from A Ma Maniére.

People call the “Bred” iconic for a reason. One of the four OG AJ4 colorways. A Chicago Bulls vibe that never ages.
Jordan Brand hasn’t officially confirmed anything yet, but when insiders like @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files start buzzing, sneakerheads start budgeting.
